About the Role

We’re looking for a Marketing Engineer to bridge the gap between Marketing and Engineering. This is a hands-on role responsible for building and optimizing the pages, emails, and technical systems that fuel our growth. You’ll work across front-end frameworks (React, Next.js), a modern CMS (Builder.io), and occasionally dip into GraphQL and PHP layers to make everything work seamlessly. If you’re a web engineer with strong front-end skills, a practical understanding of back-end integrations, and a passion for creating performant, scalable marketing experiences, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and launch new marketing web pages from Figma designs using React, Next.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Migrate existing marketing pages from our legacy PHP stack into Builder.io, collaborating with product engineers to ensure consistency and smooth integrations.
  • Develop, update, and QA marketing emails using Blueshift, with a focus on responsive design and deliverability.
  • Partner closely with Product Marketing, Design, Growth Marketing, and Product Engineering to translate creative concepts into technical execution.
  • Implement SEO best practices across pages, including structured data, metadata, and accessibility.
  • Monitor and optimize for page performance (Core Web Vitals, PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse).
  • Support conversion rate optimization efforts by collaborating with the Marketing team on landing pages and emails, ensuring accurate setup, clean code, and reliable results.
  • Occasionally troubleshoot issues across GraphQL and PHP layers that power dynamic content.

What Success Looks Like

  • Marketing pages and emails are delivered accurately, on time, and at high quality.
  • Site performance improves (LCP, INP, CLS, and overall PageSpeed scores).
  • Pages adhere to SEO best practices and drive visibility and conversion.
  • Conversion rate optimization tests are launched efficiently, with clean implementation and actionable learnings.
  • Builder.io becomes the reliable home for all marketing surfaces, with clean migrations from legacy systems.
  • Marketing surfaces integrate seamlessly with the core product, through proactive collaboration with product engineers.
  • Marketing team feels supported with fast, reliable engineering execution.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years experience in front-end development (React, Next.js, HTML, CSS, JS).
  • Experience with CMS platforms (Builder.io experience a big plus).
  • Hands-on experience building responsive marketing emails (Blueshift, MJML, or similar platforms).
  • Familiarity with PHP and GraphQL for integration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong grasp of web performance and SEO fundamentals.
  • Experience implementing or supporting A/B tests for web pages and emails.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Design, and Product Engineering teams.
  • Comfortable working in GitHub or similar version control systems.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working with Product Marketing or Growth teams.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.) to measure performance impact.
  • Experience with design-to-code workflows using Figma.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).

At Skillshare, we believe creativity thrives in an inclusive environment. We’re excited to meet candidates from all backgrounds and experiences. If you’re passionate about what we do but don’t check every single box, we’d still love to hear from you — curiosity and growth matter most to us.
