Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to lead market access strategy for Omnipod across Canada, working directly with provincial and private payers to expand coverage and improve access for people living with diabetes. In this highly visible role, you'll shape reimbursement strategy, lead provincial submissions from concept through approval, influence key coverage decisions, and partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Reimbursement teams. It's an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys combining payer relations, health policy, reimbursement, and strategic business planning while making a meaningful impact on both patient outcomes and commercial growth.

The Manager, Market Access is responsible for developing strategically targeted payer engagement, relationship and account management at the country and provincial level for improved access and procurement of the Omnipod products across the country. This includes implementing access agreements and proposing opportunities to streamline the burden of administration where possible.
 
Efforts of this individual should focus on ensuring health care providers and people living with diabetes have unimpeded access to our products and services by educating payors and influencing their medical policy decisions, their perceptions of the value Insulet provides them and their patients, and our competitive position relative to alternatives.  This role is expected to earn the support of his/her customers (internal and external) as a trusted business advisor.  Success is reflected by the key payor stakeholders accepting and implementing versions of the recommendations to the payor.  The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the necessary Province related business issues, have broad knowledge of the evolving healthcare landscape, will develop detailed strategic plans which align with the long and short-term goals of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to develop contacts and relationships throughout insurance companies both public and private from operational, to strategic and executive levels.  Understand the key players in these organizations and be able to skillfully influence these players to drive specific business objectives.

  • Core responsibility to create, disseminate and manage Provincial submissions from concept to approval through the Provincial pipelines as required to ensure a successful outcome

  • Expertly deals with the concepts and complexities associated within the payor environment.

  • Align with pricing strategy.

  • Invests the time necessary to maintain an in-depth understanding of the payor environment as it relates to provincial differences.  Additionally, this candidate should be able to skillfully deal with the concepts and complexities associated with the diabetes community.

  • Strives for excellence in all aspects of his/her performance and is committed to continuous self-evaluation and development.

  • Strives to contribute to the organization, peers’, and customers’ needs beyond sales/revenue production.

  • Provides information critical to accomplishing the Insulet mission to all colleagues the candidate works with – specifically members of the Marketing team, Sales team, Reimbursement team, and Inside Sales team.

  • Provides feedback to individuals so they can make effective decisions at all levels of the organization.

  • Partners with Sales, Marketing, Reimbursement, and Inside Sales – involves them in strategic planning and execution of those plans regarding coverage, adoption, reducing cycle times, and account/market specific opportunities/challenges

  • Establish relationships with or reliable access to, key payor stakeholders and related influence groups that impact access to our assay for healthcare providers and people living with diabetes. 

  • Leveraging published market data and our internal CRM for market access data driven insights.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 6+ years’ medical device experience in Canadian 3rd party and provincial reimbursement procedures. 2+ years of medical device sales experience (preferably with diabetes products) is preferred.

  • Related business experience with product submissions, tenders, and negotiations with national and regional, public and private payers for the provision of health insurance and coverage to people living with Diabetes.

  • Building and gathering intel and insights in the payor environment.

  • Experience calling on and developing relationships with provincial and private payers.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:            

  • In-depth understanding of healthcare systems.

  • Ability to work independently and with the cross-functional team.

  • Project Management experience with the ability to prioritize and drive for results with an emphasis on quality.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at multiple levels of an organization.

  • Ability to provide and analyze performance driven data.

  • Ability to organize and judge priorities.

  • Ability to generate and maintain accurate records.

  • Strong computer proficiency and experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 Physical Requirements:         

  • Travel up to 30% as required.

Pay Range: The expected salary for this position is $147,000.00 - $189,000.00 CAD annually. Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.
