GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for proper and safe running of machines while manufacturing a quality product that meets and exceeds Dayton Lamina‘s Customers specification.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Promote, maintain and encourage a safe work environment and good housekeeping by example and in accordance with Company Health & Safety Policies/Procedures and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  2. Operate the #5 Manual Grinders and other equipment as required.
  3. Responsible to report all rework and scrap product replacements made at your work cell.
  4. Participate in Physical Inventory activity quarterly or as deemed necessary by management.
  5. Ensure the integrity of your product and work habits.
  6. Report on daily performance and throughput from your work cell.
  7. Participate in and support Continuous Improvement Programs and Kazien Events.
  8. Inspect and approve the quality of your work
  9. All other duties and tasks as assigned by your leader.
  10. Compliance with both punctuality & attendance standards of DLC.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work on other machines and different areas as assigned by your leader(s).
  2. Report and document any maintenance, safety issues or repairs required on machines being operated.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Secondary School or equivalent in Related
  • Specific on job and equipment training

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 4 years of experience in Production and operation of grinding equipment and controls
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge and proper use of measuring instruments such as Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Gauge Blocks, Depth Micrometers, etc.

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS

  • Continuous interfacing with rest of Production, Shipping, Engineering, Sales and Order Desk.
  • Conduct professional and respectful communication with all DL Canada Employees.

COMPLEXITY OF TASKS

  • Must review the information at hand to produce a quality product that meets the Customer’s needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • none

  • Basic communication skills in English (Written & Verbal)
  • Professional conduct of yourself in the plant and when interacting with other employees, suppliers & Customers.
