Your Role & Responsibilities
  • Ensures safety is the priority and that all activities are conducted in accordance with quality, health, safety and environmental management system as well as corporate and local policies.

  • Contributes to the delivery of service excellence to both internal and external customer groups;

  • Manages Canada-wide transportation planning with a target focus on national inbound freight compliance with DOT and OSHA and Brenntag safety regulations

  • Develops, recommends and assists the Senior Manager Transportation with national planning strategies and explores/optimize routing, scheduling and load planning to reduce costs

  • Provides effective and timely communications and direction to the regional businesses with respect to all logistics, transportation, and carrier initiatives.

  • Monitor carrier performance, ensuring on-time delivery and pickup compliance.

  • Benchmarks carrier performance with the objective of improving safety, delivery efficiencies and return on investment.

  • Support Operations with all rail related issues, such as site demurrage, disputing invoices and engaging CN/CP Account Reps whenever needed.

  • Create and maintain Transportation related SOP’s.

  • Supervise, develop and performance manage a team of Transportation Planners

Your Profile Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Proficient in logistics software; preferably SAP, TMS

  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written

  • Highly organized and possesses effective time management skills

  • Knowledge of our national geography and route information

  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills

Education & Experience 
  • Post-Secondary Education; College Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration would be preferred

  • A good understanding of logistics mandate within distribution which includes dispatching/warehousing, preferably in the Chemical Industry (5+ years)
