Job Description:

The Role
The Manager, Strategy Enablement & Communications is a key enabling role supporting the Director, Strategy & Communications within Digital and Client Technology Solutions (DCTS). This role sits within the DCTS Technology Strategy & Transformation team, partnering closely with Strategy, Communications, Business Management, and Change/ Transformation leaders. The role is accountable for enabling effective strategy execution and strengthening DCTS culture and community through planning discipline, high-quality communications, and thoughtfully designed leadership and employee experiences.

Operating in a complex and evolving technology environment, this role focuses on translating direction into clarity, enabling connection and engagement, and supporting DCTS planning cycles and communications tied to our 2026 priorities (e.g., operating model evolution, strategic roadmaps, shared outcomes, and talent/community). It plays a critical role in enabling alignment, momentum, and a strong sense of community across DCTS. It is ideal for a curious, systems-oriented thinker who is comfortable operating in ambiguity and leading through influence.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy Enablement & Synthesis

  • Support the Director by translating strategic direction into clear narratives, roadmaps, and executive-ready materials
  • Synthesize inputs across initiatives to identify themes, interdependencies, and emerging insights
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform strategic discussions (e.g., industry trends, internal performance themes)
  • Own defined components of DCTS strategy reporting—e.g., monthly/quarterly OKR/KPI narrative packs, cross-initiative insights, and executive summaries for leadership forums

Community & Engagement Enablement

  • Enable DCTS culture and community by designing and leading forums, narratives, and experiences that reinforce shared purpose, priorities, and ways of working
  • Support leadership in activating culture through consistent messaging, storytelling, and visible behaviours
  • Contribute to employee engagement by shaping communications and experiences that foster connection, clarity, and inclusion

Planning & Operating Rhythm

  • Own and maintain the operating calendar for strategy, planning, and leadership forums
  • Propose and plan senior leadership and team forums, ensuring clear agendas, materials, and documented outcomes
  • Drive action tracking and decision logs for leadership forums; surface risks, dependencies, and overdue decisions to maintain execution discipline

Communications & Content Design

  • Design and deliver internal communications in alignment with the DCTS communications strategy set by the Director that support DCTS strategy, transformation, and culture
  • Develop high-quality presentations and written materials for senior leadership audiences
  • Ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned across forums and channels
  • Apply strong visual and narrative design principles to enhance impact and understanding

Stakeholder Enablement

  • Support leadership meetings by shaping agendas, materials, and facilitation approaches
  • Build effective working relationships across technology, business units, communications, and partners
  • Influence outcomes through clarity, preparation, and strong professional judgment

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Capabilities

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and produce clear, actionable outputs
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
  • 3-5 years experience in strategy, communications, program management, or related enabling roles
  • Experience supporting senior leaders or leadership teams
  • Exposure to technology or digital environments (deep technical expertise not required)
  • Curious, thoughtful, and comfortable operating in complexity and change
  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

    The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
