The Manager, Software Development & Verification, is responsible for leading the software verification function to ensure high-quality, reliable, and compliant software releases. This role manages a team of Software Verification Specialists, defines the verification strategy, and partners with software development, product management, and quality teams to deliver products that meet functional, performance, and regulatory requirements.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Software Development and Verification, is part of the R&D Software Team located in Concord, Canada, and is an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead and manage a team of Software Verification Specialists, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
Define and execute verification strategy across product lines, including test planning, traceability, risk-based testing, release readiness, and program planning through verification effort estimation, risk identification, and timeline management.
Own verification deliverables such as test plans, test protocols, reports, defect metrics, and quality dashboards.
Ensure software verification activities align with applicable standards, internal quality systems, and regulatory expectations.
Drive test automation strategy and implementation across integration, system, and regression levels.
Establish and monitor key quality indicators (defect leakage, pass/fail trends, coverage, cycle time), lead root-cause analysis for escaped defects, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Champion continuous improvement in tools, workflows, and engineering best practices.
The essential requirements of the job include:
3+ years of people-management experience leading technical teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development for Software Verification Specialists or similar technical teams.
8+ years of experience in software verification, software quality, or test engineering, ensuring software verification activities align with applicable standards, internal quality systems, and regulatory expectations.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Science, or related technical field.
Experience with requirements, traceability and test management tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality releases in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences, automotive, aerospace, or finance) with familiarity in quality/regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820/11 (or equivalent).
Hands-on experience with software verification and modern test practices, including desktop, cloud, and/or embedded systems, shift‑left testing, risk‑based testing, and quality engineering metrics.
Proficiency in test automation using languages such as C#, .NET, Python, or similar.

The annual salary range for this role is $111,333 – $122,500 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
