Position: Manager, Sales Planning (full time, home/office hybrid schedule)
Reports to: Senior Manager, Sales Planning
Overview:
The Sales Planning Manager at Church & Dwight Canada will drive the strategic planning and execution of sales initiatives across our key consumer brands. This role focuses on managing the Bottom-Up Planning process, aligning brand strategies with customer objectives, and supporting the customer-facing team in business plan development. The ideal candidate will leverage strong analytical skills to identify opportunities, provide actionable insights, and collaborate with internal teams and retail partners to optimize sales performance and drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
· Lead Bottom-Up Annual Planning: Drive the Bottom-Up Planning process to align sales initiatives with brand strategies and ensure the achievement of organizational goals.
· Oversee Thor Forecasting Tool: Manage and enhance the Thor forecasting tool to ensure forecast accuracy. Support sales teams to consistently use the tool for precise, data-driven predictions.
· Analyze Sales Data & Trends: Conduct in-depth analysis of sales data and market trends, providing actionable insights.
· Manage Assigned Trade Spend: Oversee and allocate assigned trade spend with precision, ensuring optimal use of resources to maximize sales performance and return on investment.
· Deliver Ad-Hoc Reports: Prepare detailed reports for senior management, highlighting sales performance, risks, opportunities, and the effectiveness of trade spend and promotions.
· Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure alignment and seamless execution of sales plans, with a strong focus on forecast accuracy and effective trade spend.
· Support Sales Plans & Metrics: Contribute to Bottom-Up Plans and track performance metrics, ensuring trade spend and promotional activities are optimized to achieve business objectives.
· Assist Sr. Sales Planning Manager: Support the Sr. Sales Planning Manager in quarterly reviews and the Prophecy (S&OP) process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting aligned with company goals.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree Required
· 6-8 years’ experience with emphasis on Trade Marketing, Field Sales and Sales Operations within a CPG Headquarters environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong forecasting and analytical skills with proficiency in sales data tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of the CPG industry, brand positioning, and sales/marketing insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Skilled in multitasking, working across multiple teams and managing competing priorities.
- Strong ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.
