Description
The Monetization Transformation Team defines the vision for how eBay generates revenue across its global marketplace. We operate at the intersection of growth, customer experience, and financial performance. In a fierce e-commerce landscape, our team identifies high-leverage opportunities to accelerate commerce on a multi-billion dollar platform, ensuring our pricing strategies benefit the millions of buyers and sellers who use eBay every day.
As a Manager, Monetization Transformation, you will be a primary architect of our next-generation global monetization strategy. This is not a "behind-the-scenes" role; you will build the financial models that underpin our business, present your findings to senior leadership, and own the outcomes of the paths you define.
You will need to navigate high-level systems thinking while remaining grounded in data-driven truths. You are as comfortable defining a multi-year vision as you are diving into the weeds of a SQL query to validate a hypothesis. As a tenacious decision-maker, you will strike the perfect balance between aggressive growth and fiscal discipline, possessing the rare ability to translate complex financial models into a compelling narrative that wins buy-in from executive leadership.
Responsibilities:
Feature-Level monetization: Lead the strategy for how eBay monetizes specific product features and fees to ensure every product launch aligns with global revenue goals.
Pricing architecture: Design and refine the fee structures for diverse seller segments, from casual C2C sellers to high-volume Enterprise retailers, balancing "Take Rate" optimization with GMV growth
Ecosystem balancing: Build sophisticated models to analyze the trade-offs between buyer incentives and seller fees to maintain a healthy, competitive circular economy
Data-driven iteration: Use analytics to monitor how changes to eBay’s monetization impact financial performance, iterating on pricing logic
Process innovation: Lead the modernization of our monetization toolkit by identifying process bottlenecks and deploying automated solutions that accelerate the speed-to-market for new fee structures and seller incentives
