Our location in Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a Manager, Pricing and Contracting. The role is pivotal in developing and implementing Global pricing strategy and tactical plans aligned to inline and future launch products. This role plays a pivotal role to support decision-making regarding the overall health of the business. This role collaborates with Marketing, Finance, and sales and will lead all pricing strategy development related to pipeline and in-market medical devices. This role will work in a matrix approach within the organization and requires excellent excel/analytic skills and communication and presentation skills. This position reports to the Director of Electrophysiology Pricing & Contracting Strategy.

What You’ll Work On
- Partner with Global and regional/country team to analyze the product portfolio and develop and maintain the Global List price, Target prices and Floor price for EP product portfolio
- Drive Global margin improvement projects by identifying opportunities through pricing leveraging data and analytics
- Lead price tests to adjust and optimize local portfolio and life cycle pricing strategies
- Partner with Marketing and Finance teams to conduct regular pricing reviews to effectively organize and manage positioning and pricing across the lifecycle accounting for competitive price changes, inflation, changes in demand, sales strategy, and positioning strategy
- Identify developments in the pricing environment to evaluate the potential impact on Abbott Electrophysiology and proactively identify strategies and actions.
- Provide market inputs and assumptions into annual brand planning and long-range forecast processes and develop price forecasts for the markets
- Lead a team of 1-2 pricing analyst to develop monthly/quarterly Global pricing scorecard with key insights for senior leadership to track price execution based on strategic recommendations
- Develop foundational data & analytics capabilities enabling the tracking and monitoring of price performance for leadership
- Manage the RPO pricing and contracting process in the US, develop pricing strategies, manage credit management process and analytics required to manage contract compliance
- Partner with the various geographic leaders to procure third party data and analyze for competitive intelligence and tracking
- Develop a robust process for launching and tracking product launches in priority markets
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred. Background in Finance, Economics, Marketing or other quantitative discipline is helpful
- A minimum of 7-10 years of business experience is required with 3 plus years in either Strategic Pricing, Finance or EP clinical experience is strongly preferred with Medical device industry experience, preferably with Electrophysiology knowledge
- Self-starter and strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to implement strategies based on competitive dynamics, product life cycle and customer needs
- Proven ability to translate large amounts of data into actionable insights and coherent strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with multiple business partners and influence key stakeholders
- Ability to find out-of-the-box/non-traditional ways of problem solving and apply innovative thinking when approaching and defining solutions. Enjoys the challenge posed by ‘problems’ and enjoys solving them.
- Desire to work in a fast paced, growing, deadline driven, startup-up environment. Ability to inform rapid, but fact-based decision-making with imperfect data. Self-motivated, driven to achieve teams commitments..
