POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is located at our Lawrence Allen Centre location and reports directly to AVP, Financial Controller. The Manager of Financial Systems is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial systems, ensuring data accuracy, integration, and efficiency across platforms. The manager will provide end-user training on systems such as Hyperion and maintain relationships with external vendors to ensure optimal service delivery. Additionally, they will focus on continuous improvement, driving strategic initiatives that align financial systems with the company’s long-term goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the organization’s financial systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all system integrations, with a focus on automation, scalability, and optimization;
- Research and implement industry-leading finance technologies, proposing a plan to align future initiatives with company objectives;
- Support finance automation by identifying, prioritizing, and evaluating use cases, and implementing technologies such as robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), and ERP enhancements to drive efficiency;
- Oversee relationships with external vendors, ensuring optimal service delivery and compliance with service-level agreements;
- Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and testing for financial systems, ensuring they meet evolving company reporting and compliance needs;
- Provide end-user training and support for Hyperion and other financial systems, troubleshooting issues, and offering guidance on system functionality to optimize user experience;
- Manage Hyperion metadata changes, including chart of accounts (COA), properties, and report structures, while ensuring alignment with organizational reporting standards;
- Provide guidance on best practices for financial system usage, driving continuous improvement in system efficiency, and supporting the finance team in resolving complex data and reporting challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience managing financial systems, with a focus on project implementation, strategic planning, and driving operational efficiency;
- Proven leadership and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
- Demonstrated expertise in financial systems, including Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), OneStream, Yardi experience is considered a strong asset;
- Strong knowledge of financial operations, enabling translation of business needs into technical solutions that enhance system capabilities;
- Experience with financial automation tools, including robotic process automation (RPA), machine learning, and SQL;
- Proficient in developing and implementing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and consolidation solutions;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on tracking system performance metrics and driving continuous improvement;
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels;
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, accounting, or a related field; professional accreditation (CPA or equivalent) is preferred.
