We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Manager, Financial Reporting to oversee and enhance our financial reporting processes. You will thrive in this role if you are a proactive problem-solver, possess superb communication skills, and can handle complex accounting issues with ease. ❗Please note, that this role is hybrid. The successful candidate will be working from the office 3 days a week - Tue/Wed/Th. The head office is located at 351 King St E.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage month-end close duties, including reviewing and approving journal entries and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and consistent financial reporting across consolidated and legal entity statements.
  • Analyze financial processes and records to uncover errors and identify opportunities for deeper understanding and improvement.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to complete year-end audits and other ad hoc audits efficiently, providing necessary data and insights.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Lead financial reporting projects, including implementing changes in accounting standards and other regulatory updates.
  • Contribute to acquisition accounting processes, ensuring proper ledger updates and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Research and resolve complex technical accounting issues, providing solutions that align with policies and best practices.
  • Continuously identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and challenge conventional methods to implement impactful changes for improved accuracy and timeliness.
  • Foster strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders to solve multi-faceted challenges and enhance collaboration.
  • Review and reconcile complex financial and accounting records, addressing inconsistencies and ensuring integrity.
  • Utilize emerging technologies to automate accounting processes while maintaining precision and accountability.
  • Drive data accuracy, reporting improvements, and efficiency across the accounting function.
  • Participate in system and process implementation projects as needed, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Succeed as a hands-on contributor while mentoring and inspiring team members to elevate their performance and embrace innovation.

Critical skills to succeed in this role:

  • Expertise in full-cycle accounting and reconciliation of complex accounts.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite) and Microsoft Suite tools.
  • Experience in financial consolidation and integrating subsidiaries is an asset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical reasoning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to summarize and present complex data.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workload effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, motivated team player with a track record of improving process efficiencies.
  • SaaS or recurring revenue industry experience is a plus.

Hard requirements:

  • Canadian CPA designation (mandatory).
  • Big 4 - trained CPA
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting/finance roles, with exposure to financial reporting and audit requirements.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with advanced skills in data analysis and presentation.
  • Experience managing transactions in multiple currencies and working with multiple legal entities.
