Supports the management and execution of the Bank’s capital management framework and related capital management strategies, initiatives and operational programs to ensure compliance and optimize the efficiency of capital resources. Provides advice to and acts as a key contact for stakeholders for capital forecasting, reporting, and, monitoring.

  • Prepares the enterprise regulatory capital forecast and analysis which is the source for information shared with senior management as part of their oversight and to inform senior management decision making on capital related matters.

  • Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.

  • Recommends and implements AI / automation solutions based on business requirements, objectives and deliverables.

  • Breaks down problems, analyses data and information to provide capital management insights and recommendations.

  • Exercises judgment to identify issues and resolve problems. Conducts independent analysis and assessment of issues; recommends and implements solutions.

  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.

  • Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of initiatives.

  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders, including assisting in the analysis to evaluate capital impacts of Corporate Development transactions (i.e., acquisitions, divestitures).

  • Monitors and tracks capital usage by businesses, capital performance / drivers of capital performance, and addresses any issues.

  • Monitors regulatory developments; works with stakeholders to assess impacts of changes and advises on implications for the enterprise/business.

  • Leads or participates in change management activities including readiness assessments, forecasting, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.

  • Supports the development of Corporate Standards, operating principles and guidelines to support the Capital Management Framework.

  • Builds effective relationships with stakeholders.

  • May act as liaison between stakeholders in order to align agendas and ensure a clear understanding of the business context.

  • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.

  • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and/or certification in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One or more of the following: CPA, CFA, MBA Finance.

  • Experience in Finance, Treasury, Risk or Capital Markets.

  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory capital management concepts.

  • In-depth understanding of accounting, balance sheet, and risk management concepts and practices.

  • Knowledge of financial analysis and financial modeling.

  • Knowledge of economic, social and political forces and marketplace trends.

  • Experience with Excel and SAS (or Python).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong collaboration and team skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Salary:

$82,800.00 - $154,800.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
