What is the opportunity?

The Manager Finance, Cards, Payments, Loyalty and Transformation provides financial and strategic advice and analysis to Card, Payments, Loyalty and Transformation (CPL&T) within Personal & Commercial Banking with a specific focus on prudent expense management to improve financial performance and the quality of business decisions. This role is responsible for consolidation for CPL&T NIE and FTE results, forecast and plans.

What will you do?

  • Actuals Reporting, Forecasting, Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for CPL&T NIE and FTE.

  • Co-ordination of all reporting and forecasting requirements established by P&CB Platform Performance Management  

  • Monthly Reporting support for Flash, MBRs, and dashboards for senior leaders. 

  • Proactively monitor, analyze and report on trends relative to business volumes / NIE drivers as well as external factors.

  • Book and coordinate entries/accruals with PC and FC, amortize prepaid licenses, PEGA attestation.

  • Develop advice and guidance for senior leadership of CPL&T on cost performance, trends, early warning indicators and savings opportunities. 

  • Address ad-hoc requests related to NIE and FTE analysis.

  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, completeness of financial information.

  • Actively explore improvements in the reporting process, look for streamlining opportunities and low value activities that can be discontinued

What you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • CA, CMA, CGA, MBA, CFA or equivalent with 4+ years work experience gained through a varied working career including positions in numerous facets of RBC or another financial institution.
  • Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills;
  • Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to establish strong relationships at all levels across the enterprise, work effectively in a matrix model and leverage global resources to achieve objectives.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge / previous experience in financial reporting / analysis and expense / cost management.
  • Proven planning, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Proactive self-starter with strong client focus.
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Intellectual curiosity and growth mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, ThoughtSpot, etc
  • Comfortable dealing with large and complex data sets
