This role will be part of the EPMO, supporting both the project portfolio and the Office of the CIO (OCIO). The team is in a period of growth, providing ample opportunity for thought leadership on maturing project/portfolio management and operational processes. 

For the portfolio, key accountabilities relate to supporting business strategy by managing project prioritization and intake processes, business case development support and portfolio analysis and reporting. In support of the IT department, this role will support the office of the CIO by clearly articulating the IT vision in all presentation material, crafting Executive messaging/content, managing IT Operational meeting input and outputs, overseeing the IT Communications calendar and creating some content, and any other activities in support of the office of the CIO.

This role will report into the Director, EPMO Governance & Portfolio Management. 

What will you do?

Business Strategy Support

  • Manage the evaluation and prioritization process of projects as part of the Annual Planning Cycle to ensure budgets and resources are appropriately aligned and clear visibility into priorities for the following year are understood across the Executive team and organization.
  • Support the business in defining business cases to ensure clear articulation of the request, alignment to strategic goals and benefit to be generated.
  • Manage the Enterprise Intake process and business project and backlog prioritization throughout the year, and continually look for ways to mature these processes
  • Engage with IT stakeholders accountable for solution design and engineering considerations to feed into estimates.
  • Lead creation of annual portfolio implementation plan with key stakeholders.

EPMO Reporting 

  • Manage and execute on regular reporting across the portfolio of projects with key performance indicators on delivery and business value achievement. 
  • Support the Director with refining the portfolio reporting framework - focus on incremental improvements to reporting overtime to mature metrics and better meet business needs

IT Strategy and Engagement Support

  • Review and support materials that articulates IT vision and ensure consistency in messaging across.
  • Support creation of materials for various executive and board committees.
  • Support creation of materials for the IT Operational Meeting.
  • Manage department events calendar and oversee coordination of activities/agendas across a variety of IT team. 

Risk/BCP/Audit

  • Manage a meaningful EPMO risk practice and management process in collaboration with ERM and support other IT areas as needed
  • Coordinate with PMs for inputs and outputs to RAID framework (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) for projects and the portfolio
  • Manage annual updates to EPMO deliverables to the BCM program and support other IT areas as needed.
  • Manage Internal Audit action and outcomes as applicable to IT and EPMO

Leadership

  • Provide effective leadership and mentorship to direct reports and team members - including but not limited to direct report (title TBD) - fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous growth
  • Provide Leadership, influence and mentorship with teams outside of their own to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous growth.
  • Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support the professional development of team members to maximize their potential and contribution to the IT and organization’s goals
  • Lead the way by fostering an environment that supports team engagement and alignment to Gore's business objectives and purpose driven culture

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, and/or related field of study 
  • 8+ Years of experience in Project Management
  • 5+ Years of experience in project portfolio analysis and KPI’s. 
  • 5+ Years of experience in Strategic Planning.
  • 5+Years of experience in Executive Communication.
  • 5+ Years of experience in project portfolio Analysis and KPI’s. 
  • Good stakeholder management and strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and bring thought leadership.
