About the Role:

Our Consumer Product Engineering team strives to provide the best remittance service on the market, from a customer's first transfer to their 100th. We help Remitly reach more customers, continuously improve the experience they receive with our flagship remittance product, and ultimately earn their trust. We build and support many of Remitly's main customer-facing features, including the core send experience. We do this collaboratively with an amazing team of product managers, designers, analysts, and engineers working together through the entire feature development lifecycle. As an Engineering Manager on this team, you will report to a Senior Engineering Manager.

You Will:

  • Build frameworks and processes that empower the team to operate autonomously and make independent decisions
  • Establish and meet the hiring plan for the team, sourcing and interviewing a diverse set of candidates
  • Drive technical vision through engineering and cross-team leadership that enables growth in a responsible and scalable way
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to deliver top-notch customer experiences
  • Participate in technical discussions and design, aiming to align teams towards a common goal

You Have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of total experience building software
  • Experience leading and building engineering teams
  • Experience recruiting engineers including strategy, sourcing, structuring interview loops, interviewing, and closing candidates
  • Experience developing reliable and scalable apps or services on a public cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Experience as an engineer building customer-facing products

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $148,000-180,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
