The world’s most innovative brands rely on Movable Ink to maximize revenue, simplify workflow and boost marketing agility. Headquartered in New York City with close to 600 employees, Movable Ink serves its global client base with operations throughout North America, Central America, Europe, Australia, and Japan.

Are you ready to lead the engineering efforts that will extend Movable Ink's AI-powered decisioning capabilities into SMS, push notifications, in-app messaging, and social media channels? This role is at the forefront of building the future of omnichannel marketing, empowering brands to deliver intelligent, personalized campaigns across multiple platforms. As the leader of this team, you’ll shape cutting-edge solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and build systems that make a real impact—all while working with some of the most talented engineers in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the extension of email content library and campaign workflows to support additional channels like SMS/MMS/RCS, push notifications, in-app messaging, and social media
  • Extend AI-/ML-based content decisioning, send time optimization, and frequency management across all supported channels
  • Modify and expand in-platform analytics and instrumentation to accommodate omnichannel marketing, providing customers with unified, actionable insights across all messaging channels
  • Lead the recruitment, development, and mentorship of an engineering team capable of executing on these objectives
  • Ensure the platform continues to meet high standards of scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Mentor and guide the engineering team, fostering growth in technical expertise and aligning team goals with high-impact projects; collaborate with other managers and teams to align efforts

Qualifications:

  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a team; balance high expectations with support and empathy
  • Effectively lead team meetings and presentations that showcase deliverables to the organization
  • Identify and resolve problems quickly and adept at identifying root causes and troubleshooting data accuracy
  • Exemplary software development practices; clear, readable, and obvious code using language-specific idiomatic patterns, thoughtful code reviews, and appropriately thorough testing
  • Strong technical skills in web application development (we use Python Django, GraphQL, React/TypeScript) and building scalable, user-friendly interfaces, interface design and inter-service communication (Protocol Buffers and gRPC), cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform), containerization (Kubernetes), deployment practices, and mobile application development frameworks (React Native, Flutter, or native iOS/Android).
  • Navigate and resolve disputes within the team and possess other negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Be adaptable and focus on iterative improvement–both in product and process–to help the team stay responsive to new requirements
  • Collaborate well with various teams, including shared execution with other product and engineering teams, as well on new product delivery with cross-functional teams (Product Enablement, Solutions, and Client Experience)
