We are seeking a dynamic Manager, Data Platforms to lead our Kafka and Managed File Transfer teams. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, technical innovation, and team engagement across mission-critical data platform services, with accountability for 24/7 support and service reliability.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Director, Data Platforms & Services.

Posting Type: Replacement Position

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $138,423 - $186,339.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career – What you’ll do

• Lead and manage a team of system engineers responsible for design, implementation and support of Real-time messaging (Kafka) and Managed File Transfers (GoAnywhere) platforms.

• Own the end‑to‑end 24/7 support model for Kafka and Managed File Transfer platforms, including on‑call rotations, incident response, and escalation procedures. Act as the incident commander and escalation point for major incidents, ensuring clear communication, rapid restoration, and stakeholder confidence.

• Oversee the technical architecture, design, development, and operations of the platforms, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.

• Manage end-to-end availability and performance of the platforms. Establish and maintain robust processes, procedures and design patterns to ensure consistent, reliable operations across all platform services. This includes cluster configuration, monitoring, scaling, and disaster recovery planning, user and routing onboarding, PCI and security compliance.

• Partner with architecture and development teams to design scalable solutions, participate in quarterly roadmap planning, and lead technical review sessions.

• Develop and maintain system and support documentation, including operational guides, network diagrams, and infrastructure design.

• Inspire and develop team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Your Moneris Career – What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven experience managing 24/7 production support teams for mission‑critical platforms.

• Knowledge of enterprise Managed File Transfer solutions (such as FORTRA GoAnywhere MFT, IBM B2B Integrator/File Gateway, Axway Managed File Transfer) and Kafka platforms (Apache Kafka, Confluent Platform).

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hands-on experience implementing Azure based solutions

• Strong background in enterprise-grade infrastructures, operations, and/or systems engineering.

• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking and network infrastructure components. Knowledge of SCP/SFTP/HTTPS protocols.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and technical peers.
