What we are looking for:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Manager, Corporate Accounting will occupy a key role within the Corporate Accounting team, where they will be mainly responsible for the corporate accounting and financial reporting processes at Fiera Capital. This person will also participate in operational audits (internal and external), related reporting, documentation and process optimization.

This role is an individual contributor position with autonomy and visibility across finance designed for a professional who is motivated to grow into a team leadership position as the function scales. The accounting and financial reporting responsibilities relates to the non-consolidated books and financial statements of Fiera Capital Corporation.

Your responsibilities:

Month-End Close Processes

  • Actively participate in the month-end close process by submitting accounting entries and related working paper files for review and approval. Prepare various reconciliations and analyses to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the accounting records.

Financial Reporting Cycle Collaboration

  • Engage proactively in daily touchpoint calls with the corporate accounting team during the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting cycles. These interactions help ensure proper allocation of workload and the timely completion of assigned tasks.

Financial Analyses and Variance Explanations

  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual analyses to understand profit and loss results and balance sheet items. Clearly explain variances compared to previous periods, providing meaningful insights into the underlying causes.

IFRS Financial Statement Preparation

  • Draft and review annual non-consolidated IFRS financial statements. This responsibility includes coordinating effectively with the consolidation financial reporting team and other entities to clear intercompany balances and transactions.

Audit and Controls Support

  • Respond promptly to requests from both the internal controls team and external auditors, ensuring that inquiries and requirements are addressed in a timely manner.

Process Improvement Initiatives

  • Participate proactively in process improvement projects by providing suggestions for automation and efficiency gains and participate in effective execution.

Must-have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (Canada) or Certified Public Accountant (US)
  • At least six years of relevant experience in corporate accounting under IFRS and external auditing (at least 3 years of this experience must relate to corporate accounting)
  • Knowledge of how to use SAP S/4HANA and SAP Concur as it relates to accounting and financial reporting processes
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills and effective management of priorities and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with others
  • Attention to detail and have a robust understanding of the underlying business rationale of transactions
  • Ability to question processes and identify control gaps, find and propose effective solutions

Good-to-have

  • Demonstrated experience in asset management organizations
  • Bilingual in English and French

Additional Information:

  • Fiera Capital adheres to a hybrid working environment with 4 days in-office per week.
  • The salary range for this position is $108,000 - $135,000. This role is also be eligible for additional compensation, including bonuses and employee benefits. This salary range is for Ontario.
  • Position opening reason : Replacement.
