What is the opportunity?

RBC is currently recruiting for a Manager role within the Cards, Analytics & Insights team. In this role, you will work closely with the Snr. Manager and collaborate with various product teams within the Cards portfolio to support business initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

1) Providing end-to-end analytics advisory services including conceptualizing business questions, designing and executing analytics framework and recommending and influencing the credit card business for decision making purpose

2) Identifying underlying business trends using analytical tools and transforming them into actionable insights

What will you do?

  • Act as a subject matter expert regarding analytics / data science topics (e.g. data visualization, storytelling, KPI definition, statistical analysis, predictive modelling etc.).

  • Support business growth targets by understanding business needs and providing concise, insightful and timely analytics of key trends through interpretation of interplays between portfolio / business performance, costs and business strategy.

  • Assist Senior Manager and collaborate with business partners in rapid identification, prioritization and deployment of analytics to define new potential business opportunities and to support decisions through the provision of industry and competitor data.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams through the analytics process to make sound information-based decisions and develop robust measures to effectively identify, mitigate and monitor risks and opportunities.

  • Present and defend analysis and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders and senior key decision makers.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have: 

  • At least two previous work term experiences in clients, product, marketing or risk analytical or reporting role; Experiences in supporting credit card business and/or financial services industry an asset

  • Programming experience to extract data and complete complex analytics. SQL, SAS, Python required.

  • Instinctive curiosity and strategic mindset to drill into the analytics to understand business drivers and predict business growth and the technical ability to apply this knowledge to resolve complex business questions

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of the company. Strong skills in presentation and story telling

  • A hunger for continued development and learning

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge in Hadoop, Google Analytics and Big Data environment

  • Advance degree in quantitative discipline
