Are you ready to take the next step in your career by making a real difference at Ontario's largest retailer? Reporting to the Director, IT Service Management, you will help develop an Application Operations Support strategy for LCBO. The manager will draft and execute a plan to help achieve sustainment goals and deliver on all support requirements. You will lead a team of professionals including; Team Leads, Sr. Analysts, Sr. Specialists and Analysts and will be responsible for compensation, performance appraisals, resource allocation.

About the Role

  • Establish, lead and implement sustainable IT support practices that helps to develop the IT division’s strategic plan and supports the Operational sustainment of the LCBO’s Applications:
  • Manage the LCBO IT Application sustainment capabilities including internal and external resources, development methodology, processes and tools.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all onboarded LCBO Applications with special focus on sustainability and health of the Application solutions.
  • Standardize and oversee IT Application Operations policies, evaluation metrics and interactions with other internal and external groups. 
  • Manage, direct and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team of Team Leads, Tech Leads and Analysts to support all Application Operations activities
  • Manage and oversee external support partners. 
  • Continually assess LCBO’s IT Application capabilities and external landscape and develop roadmaps, selecting scenarios and choosing products and partners. Evolve the IT Application Operations transformation strategy and roadmap aligned with the IT strategic business plan and the enterprise architecture.
  • Plan and manage the annual IT Application Operations budget, human resources, and physical facilities to meet support needs.
  • Provide advisory services regarding processes, tools and approaches specific to Application Operations
  • Build effective relationships and partners with the lines of business areas within IT by proactively providing leadership and direction across all aspects of their application sustainment deliverables, costs and future opportunities.

About You

  • Bachelors’ degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross functional teams and other people leaders.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud and mobile architectures
  • Deep understanding of service-oriented architecture and variety of application and data integration options
  • Several years’ experience in sustaining large, business critical applications.
  • Industry knowledge of Systems set processes and technologies
  • Significant experience with Applications and Database Administration, preferably within e-Commerce/Cloud sector.
  • Experience managing budget and resource allocations for greater efficiencies
  • PMP Certification is an asset.
