We are hiring an Advanced Analytics Platform and Engineering Lead for our Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) group. This is a hands-on technical leadership role within the Advanced Analytics & Data Science (AADS) team.You will lead the technical direction across both platform engineering and data science, bridging infrastructure, MLOps, and applied ML delivery. Working closely with the product manager, you will co-lead the full lifecycle of advanced analytics and ML products—from concept to deployment—while providing hands-on coaching and technical guidance to engineers and data scientists.
This role is ideal for a senior ML engineer ready to shape standards and direction while staying deeply hands-on. Initially, you will mentor and guide team members without formal direct reports, with the opportunity to build into a management role as the team expands
Advanced Analytics Platform and Engineering Lead
Location: Toronto or Vancouver, Canada
Reports to: Director, Advanced Analytics & Data Science (AADS)
Engineering Practices
- Define and implement coding, testing, CI/CD, and MLOps standards across AADS.
- Optimize cloud usage for cost and scalability.
- Balance rapid iteration for proofs-of-value (POVs) with robust, production-ready solutions.
Solution Delivery
- Design and deploy fit-for-purpose ML/AI solutions, selecting stacks based on not only benefits but also within tolerable risks, and limitations.
- Build and maintain reusable pipelines, infrastructure templates, and app frameworks to accelerate delivery.
- Drive the ML lifecycle: data pipelines, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
Business Alignment
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to align solutions with business priorities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to platform engineers and data scientists.
- Closely collaborate with platform and engineering vendors to support the roadmap for advanced analytics capabilities.
Success in Your First 6–12 Months
- Deliver production-ready ML pipelines and applications that support investment and operations.
- Establish and embed engineering standards across infra, data, and ML workflows.
- Provide visibility into cloud usage and costs, driving efficiency.
- Shape the roadmap for scaling advanced analytics and ML adoption across QuadReal.
What We’re Looking For:
Required
- 5+ years in machine learning engineering, MLOps, or data/ML platform engineering, with strong software engineering foundations.
- Proven track record deploying ML models to production using open-source stacks (MLflow, Airflow, Kubeflow, Prefect, Feast) and Azure hybrid environments.
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and orchestration frameworks.
- Familiarity with ML lifecycle tooling (versioning, monitoring, explainability).
- Experience building data apps and workflows (Plotly Dash, FastAPI, LiteLLM, n8n or similar).
- Strong communication skills to bridge technical and business teams.
- Excitement about applying ML/AI to transform traditional industries.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience designing and deploying GenAI architectures (e.g., RAG, agentic workflows, embedded LLM services).
- Applying GenAI to engineering and data workflows to automate development and improve quality.
- Exposure to agentic evaluations and responsible AI design.
- Experience with platform and vendor management for tools and integrations.
- Prior mentoring or light management experience.
