Job Description

The Legal Counsel & Procurement Contract Lead will support Klick’s creative and production work by managing legal and commercial contracting across vendor, supplier, agency, studio, and production engagements. This role partners closely with Creative, Production, Finance, Client Services, and Legal stakeholders to align contracts with client obligations, budget parameters, and Klick’s risk standards. The role owns contract lifecycle management from drafting and negotiation through execution, renewal, and supplier relationship support.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead drafting, redlining, negotiation, execution, and renewal of creative and production agreements with agencies, production houses, studios, suppliers, and vendors
  • Develop contracting standards, templates, and commercial frameworks for creative and production procurement aligned to client obligations and internal risk requirements
  • Advise Creative, Production, Finance, Client Services, and Legal stakeholders on contract terms, scope changes, vendor escalations, and commercial risk
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships by negotiating preferred terms, monitoring vendor performance, and identifying consolidation or efficiency opportunities
  • Partner with internal teams to improve contract workflows, procurement processes, approval paths, and documentation across the full contract lifecycle

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5–10 years of experience in contract management, commercial law, vendor relations, or procurement within media, advertising, agency, creative production, or related environments
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating vendor, supplier, creative, production, studio, or agency agreements with measurable ownership of contract outcomes
  • Strong legal and commercial acumen, including identifying contractual risk, managing compliance obligations, and advising stakeholders on business impact
  • Experience partnering with Creative, Production, Finance, Strategy, Client Services, or Legal teams to streamline vendor engagement and contract workflows
  • Knowledge of production procurement practices, including talent agreements, music licensing, studio costs, post-production vendors, or production-related supplier management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contract priorities, renewals, negotiations, and stakeholder requests within defined timelines and business requirements

Desired:

  • Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI as a regular part of how work gets done
  • Experience developing contract templates, playbooks, approval workflows, or procurement process improvements
  • Experience supporting creative production, content production, or agency services contracts in a client-service environment
  • Familiarity with privacy, employment, regulatory, or broader commercial legal matters in a business advisory context
  • Experience negotiating preferred supplier terms or managing vendor consolidation initiatives
  • Legal degree, paralegal background, procurement certification, or equivalent contract management experience

Additional Information

This posting is for a newly created role at Klick.

The base salary range for this position is between CAD $120,000 - $150,000. The final amount offered will be determined based on several factors such as a candidate's work location, their unique skill set, education, and prior work experience.
