The Legal Associate will handle diverse tasks including drafting and negotiating various agreements, collaborating with teams to resolve legal issues, managing local counsel, conducting due diligence, and monitoring legal developments.

Position Overview:
There will be no "typical" day for this Legal Associate. The role's duties will be varied and will include a mix of corporate transactional and advisory work, as well as involvement on ad hoc matters as necessary. The working environment is multi-disciplinary, collaborative, and non-hierarchical; the successful candidate will (a) take ownership of matters, and (b) work closely with colleagues across various teams and around the globe.
The Legal Associate will report to a more senior member of Legal.
- Draft and negotiate various transactional agreements, including contracts for intellectual property, data usage, technical and personal services, real estate, and employment.
- Collaborate with investment and technical colleagues to identify and resolve legal and business issues.
- Work closely with colleagues in other departments, including investment, compliance, operations, business development, and fund accounting.
- Manage and coordinate local counsel in various jurisdictions.
- Evaluate potential counterparties, including conducting due diligence.
- Monitor, research, and summarize relevant legal developments.

Required Qualifications:
- LL.B., J.D., or an equivalent law degree.
- Background in a top-tier transactional firm or equivalent in-house role.
- Significant experience advising upon, drafting, and negotiating transactional documents.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations, GDPR in particular, preferred.
- Enthusiasm for a variety of legal areas.
- Ability to be proactive and think creatively to provide solutions.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with colleagues across multiple regions and time zones.
- Capacity to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work within tight deadlines.
- Willingness to support a growing global team on a broad range of matters.
- Fluency in English necessary; fluency in French preferred.
