The Corporate Communications Leader is a senior position accountable to designing strategies that build, strengthen and protect Interac reputation with internal and external stakeholders. The role leads end-to-end corporate communication, issues management, citizenship and thought leadership efforts.  ​

You’ll be responsible for:  

  • Developing and implementing a strategic internal and external communications plan to build corporate profile, brand awareness and employee engagement.

  • Creating PR strategy for Interac executive thought leadership, leveraging PESO channels, supporting biz dev/sponsorship strategies.

  • Strategically leading CEO communications and profile building internally and externally leveraging all strategic MarComm channels​

  • Overseeing the development / maintenance of all proactive external communications, including ongoing corporate key messaging, speeches, briefing notes, press releases, articles, multimedia content, that drive MarComm KPIs​.

  • Driving the corporate/brand narrative for all communications and integration of communications strategies into brand, digital and product marketing, sponsorship, partner marketing, and public affairs programming​.

  • Mitigate negative issues externally, crisis and issue readiness and compliance, respond reactively to manage reputation, and create proactive media/digital strategies to increase positive sentiment​.

  • Proactively managing reputation through corporate citizenship efforts, including managing key community partnerships, activating them internally and externally to promote employer brand and social responsibility; ensure alignment to ESG and D&I strategies​.

  • Leading a team of 5+ high-performing leads with experience in corporate communications at all levels.

You bring:  

  • 15+ years of experience in corporate communications

  • Proven experience managing top-level executives and teams

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity. 

  • Communications skills - written, verbal, influence, judgement, persuasion​.

  • Consulting skills – ideation, strategic counsel, risk mitigation​.

  • Time management & project delivery.

  • Understanding of Canadian media landscape​.
