Hey! Are you ready to lead the charge on quality for one of our exciting puzzle experiences? At Rovio, we're all about crafting joy, and as our new Lead QA, you'll be the one who ensures that joy is rock-solid and bug-free for millions of players globally. You’ll be joining the Angry Birds Friends team to define the quality strategy from day one, impacting the project from its lifecycle stage all the way through live operations.

This position is located in our Espoo (Finland) studio. We are able to provide work permit sponsorship if needed, but we are not offering relocation support for this role.

You will have impact and fun at work by:

  • Defining and evolving our game's core testing strategy, making sure it aligns beautifully with both the development lifecycle and our business goals.
  • Championing key quality metrics (KPIs), as in developing and driving metrics, and being the trusted source for visibility on all QA planning and activities across the team. Documenting QA processes and creating reports.
  • Collaborating closely with game leadership to structure risk assessments, contribute to planning, and ensure quality is prioritized in the backlog.
  • Owning our QA budget, forecasting, and vendor management, aligning all external testing efforts for maximum cost efficiency and positive impact.
  • Coaching our in-house QA team members, and encouraging a shared sense of accountability. You’re not a supervisor but rather the craft expert who leads the way.
  • Driving continuous improvement for all QA processes, tools, and practices to ensure we're always ready for a smooth, exciting release.
  • Understanding and supporting investigations into live issues, ensuring a consistently high-quality experience throughout development and ongoing live operations.

Experience and skills we are looking for:

  • You have a QA background, including 4+ years of experience in decision-making QA roles for mobile games.
  • You have deep, supportive experience leading QA on live mobile games, which means you have a strong understanding of both mobile platforms and the full release process, including store submissions.
  • You understand configuration management and live game content (e.g. A/B testing, configurations)
  • You're comfortable and committed to managing external vendors and QA budgets, ensuring we're working together effectively.
  • You're proficient with test and defect management tools, and you understand how to use data and analytics to track KPIs and make informed decisions.
  • You're an honest, thoughtful communicator in cross-functional teams, and you use a systems-thinking approach to problem-solving.

It would be nice if you also have the following skills:

  • You have a special understanding of mobile Free-to-Play (F2P) games.
  • You have experience in automation and/or AI utilization.

Please note that relocation or visa support is not provided for this position. You’ll work in a hybrid setup with two days at the office per week, and get to collaborate with team members in Barcelona, Spain as well! Please send your CV in English. We look forward to speaking to you!

We welcome applicants to use the name they want to be addressed by in the application form, regardless of whether it is their legal name.

At Rovio, we are also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities or conditions in our working environment and job application procedures. We are committed to continuously improving workplace accessibility. If you have any questions before applying, please write to us at [email protected].
