We are seeking a skilled, collaborative, and motivated Lead Operations Engineer to join our dynamic Lumina Cloud Platform team.
Initially, the primary emphasis of this role will be on the Cloud Data Lakehouse (Snowflake) platform. In this critical role, you will be responsible to ensure the smooth, reliable, and efficient operation of our Cloud Data Lakehouse environment. Your expertise will be essential in providing platform related technical support, performance optimization, and troubleshooting while driving best practices in operations.
After the initial focus on the Cloud Data Lakehouse (CDL) platform, we anticipate this role to evolve to encompass a broader scope, bridging operations of the Lumina Cloud Platform product suite and ensuring seamless integration across platforms.

What will you do?

Provide daily operational support for CDL focusing on monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues related to data warehousing and ETL processes

Work closely with data engineers, analysts, cross-functional teams, and other stakeholders to address support requests and incidents related to CDL

Optimize and enhance performance of Snowflake workloads through SQL query tuning, resource monitoring, and scaling solutions

Assist in developing, deploying, and maintaining data pipelines within Snowflake

Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data integrity, availability, and accuracy across datasets and workflows

Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices for the CDL platform including security, user management, and access control

Work closely with platform engineering team to ensure platform integrity, availability and enhance the efficiency and reliability of CDL operations

Maintain up-to-date documentation on CDL configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
-
2-4 years of experience in technical support or data engineering, focusing on Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehousing solutions

Proficiency in SQL for query optimization and troubleshooting

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
-
Knowledge of Terraform, RedHat, OpenShift is a plus
-
Snowflake certification is beneficial

Understanding of data governance and security best practices is a plus

Strong analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues

Self-starter with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for effective team work
Nice to Have

Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash)

Familiarity with data modeling, schema design, and database management

Knowledge & understanding of operational support frameworks

Experience working in an Agile environment
