About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic, analytical leader to join our team as Lead, Energy Strategy. The Lead, Energy Strategy supports the development of long-term strategy for the business, leading cross-functional strategic initiatives that unlock new revenue, optimize economics, and manage risk. The role shapes the end-to-end energy solutions strategy across markets, products, partnerships, and financial structures, turning insights into executable roadmaps. This individual will act as a key thought partner to the SVP, Head of Electrification and senior leaders on capital allocation and prioritization of energy-related initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the shaping and refinement of the end-to-end energy solutions strategy, including target markets, product offerings, partnership models, and financial structures.
  • Identify, size, and prioritize near- and long-term opportunities that unlock new revenue streams, optimize unit economics, and manage risk for the electrification portfolio.
  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives across the energy portfolio from concept to execution, including monetization models, new market entry, partnerships, and regulatory plays.
  • Develop hypotheses, structure workplans, and oversee analysis to validate business cases and guide go/no-go decisions.
  • Oversee energy-related credits, incentives, and regulatory programs to maximize business value while ensuring compliance with applicable rules and standards.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Product, and Legal/Regulatory teams to structure and evaluate financial products and mechanisms.
  • Deliver executive-ready materials to guide prioritization, capital allocation, and strategic decision-making.
  • Drive alignment across senior stakeholders on key choices, trade-offs, sequencing of investments, and portfolio performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–4+ years of relevant work experience in strategy, corporate development, investment banking, consulting, or similar roles.
  • Demonstrated experience shaping and executing strategic initiatives, including business case development and financial modeling.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Treasury, Accounting,
  • Product, and Legal/Regulatory teams. Proven ability to operate effectively in complex, ambiguous, and fast-changing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent).
  • Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, electrification, or EV ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, regulatory drivers, and incentive or credit frameworks.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience with SQL, PowerBI, and advanced data analysis tools.

Location

Current Location: Toronto, ONT

The hiring base salary range for this position is $99,200 to $136,400 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
