We are seeking a Lead Data Platform Solutions Engineer to join our Global Data Governance Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the design, strategy, and execution of robust, cloud-native infrastructure and data governance solutions that power enterprise-wide compliance and data quality initiatives. You will leverage modern technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Informatica, and AI/ML tools to build scalable, secure, and intelligent platforms. This role offers the chance to influence platform strategy globally, mentor engineering teams, and deliver solutions that enable Manulife’s mission of making decisions easier and lives better through trusted data.

Position Responsibilities

  • Design and implement infrastructure solutions using Terraform for automated deployment and management.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitOps, and Groovy scripting to support continuous delivery.
  • Deploy and manage Azure cloud infrastructure (Data Factory, SQL, Purview, Key Vault) ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
  • Integrate and administer Databricks environments to support governance features, analytics, and ML workloads.
  • Implement and manage APIM/APIOps solutions for enterprise integration patterns.
  • Build and support platform capabilities for data governance (catalog, lineage, classification, test data management, access control, data quality) using Informatica IDMC.
  • Incorporate AI/ML tools for data profiling, anomaly detection, and intelligent metadata tagging.
  • Collaborate with data owners, architects, and governance leads to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
  • Provide strategic direction, mentor global engineering teams, and align platform roadmaps with enterprise governance goals.
  • Integrate, administer, and manage Databricks environments to support data governance features/roadmap within DBX Unity Catalog, analytics.
  • Manage and implement APIM/APIOps solutions, particularly in support of Global segments. 

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • 5+ years of experience with Jenkins, GitOps, and Groovy scripting.
  • 7+ years of experience in Azure cloud infrastructure deployment and management.
  • 5+ years of experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog) and APIM/APIOps.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles (access control, cataloging, data quality, data residency).
  • Proven leadership in platform engineering at scale, with ability to influence technical strategy and collaborate globally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI/GenAI stack and operations management.
  • Experience in data and analytics projects in federated/global environments.
  • Platform automation experience using Python or other scripting tools.
  • Certifications in Azure, Databricks, or Informatica.

Working Arrangement

Salary range is expected to be between

$110,530.00 CAD - $205,270.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
