Job Description:
We are seeking a Lead Application Specialist - Trade & Supply Chain Finance Technology to join our team. This is a senior advisory role that provides deep domain, platform, and integration expertise across Supply Chain Finance solutions within a regulated banking environment.
This role serves as the authoritative source of knowledge on SCF business processes, vendor platforms, and end-to-end integration behavior, supporting Solution Architects, Development Leads, and delivery teams in designing, implementing, and operating high-quality solutions.
The SME does not own formal delivery or people management accountability, but exerts significant influence through expert guidance, design validation, and risk mitigation across the solution lifecycle.
You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the bank – including lending, payments, trade finance, and core banking – while working closely with our vendors and engineering teams to define clear, actionable requirements. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role ideal for someone who understands both the business impact and technical complexity of system integrations in a regulated environment. The role requires deep technical credibility to guide engineers, challenge designs, and ensure high-quality delivery outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesSubject Matter Expertise & Advisory Accountability- Act as the authoritative expert on Supply Chain Finance technology platforms, integrations, and business capabilities
- Provide expert guidance to Solution Architects and Development Leads on platform capabilities, constraints, and optimal integration approaches
- Advise delivery teams on complex functional flows, edge cases, and non-standard scenarios specific to SCF products
- Support solution shaping during initiation, design refinement, and delivery execution without direct ownership of delivery commitments
- Review and validate solution designs to ensure alignment with Supply Chain Finance product behavior and vendor platform capabilities
- Provide expert input into integration patterns, data flows, and non-functional requirements from an SCF domain perspective
- Identify design gaps, platform limitations, or business risks early and recommend pragmatic alternatives
- Partner with architecture, risk, and security teams to assess SCF-specific regulatory and operational risks
- Provide expert input during audits, regulatory reviews, and vendor assessments as an SCF technology specialist
- Act as a trusted technology advisor to business partners, product owners, and technology leaders
- Communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate effectively across product, engineering, operations, security, and vendor teams in a matrixed organization
- 15+ years of experience in application development, integration, or technology roles
- 5+ years of experience in Banking or Financial Services environments, preferably SME roles
- Deep understanding of Supply Chain Finance products and workflows, including Payables Finance, Receivables Finance, and Dynamic Discounting
- Strong knowledge of vendor SCF platforms, onboarding models, transaction lifecycles, and exception handling
- Expertise in cross-bank integrations involving payments, limits, collateral, credit, and accounting flows
- Ability to translate complex product behavior into clear, actionable guidance for technology teams
- Strong execution mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
- Solid understanding of risk, compliance, and audit expectations in regulated environments
