The Laboratory Engineer is responsible for executing complex test plans, analyzing performance, reporting results, and maintaining test equipment. They will lead testing programs, collaborate with customers, and enhance testing processes to ensure accurate evaluations and compliance with safety standards in a laboratory environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute complex test plans and datasheets using a single technology.
- Analyze test performance and sample operation, record and report results, and complete accurate test documentation.
- Lead complex test programs, defining test plans, ensuring timely and accurate reports, and managing related activities with minimal assistance.
- Communicate project status and results as required.
- Evaluate customer samples, operate appropriate tests, and collaborate with customers to ensure accurate evaluation.
- Demonstrate expertise in specific test standards and product technologies within the scope of responsibility.
- Design, build, and adapt test setups and equipment based on plans or engineering instructions.
- Operate, maintain, and perform routine upkeep of test equipment and lab areas to ensure functionality.
- Apply continuous improvement techniques to enhance test processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with management and technical staff to recommend new equipment, processes, or systems.
- Support lab operations, including calibration, equipment maintenance, fixture validation, shipping/receiving, and purchase requisitions.
- Assist in developing the lab's annual capital expenditure budget and tactical plans.
- Prioritize workplace safety and integrate safety initiatives into daily tasks.
- Maintain a well-organized lab environment through 5S principles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in testing IT equipment and power supplies.
- Familiarity with safety standards such as IEC/UL/EN 62368-1, 60950-1, or 61010-1.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in hands-on engineering and testing in a laboratory setting.
