Job Description

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Key Employee supports the preparation, setup, and execution of events, while assisting in overseeing floor operations.This role includes coordinating service, delivering food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring quality and presentation standards are met. The Key Employee is knowledgeable about event menus and able to assist guests with recommendations.This is a leadership development role, providing the opportunity to build event management skills while continuing to work server or bartender shifts when not scheduled in a supervisory capacity.

THE DAY TO DAY:

  • Communicates the vision to all team members and leads by example.  Reinforces the O&B values daily and inspires the team with his/her exciting vision for the future
  • Support the management team in overall event management
  • Leading a team of servers and bartenders during an event, responding to all concerns and needs as required
  • Builds and maintains relationships with guests, team members and senior management alike
  • Shows leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food and wine
  • Uses conflict/resolution and problem solving skills
  • Assist in the preparation, setup and maintenance of event spaces
  • Possess a strong knowledge of event menu items
  • Follows bar, beverage and wine control procedures exactly
  • Respond promptly to guest requests in a timely, professional and efficient manner
  • Deliver food & beverage to the appropriate tables as directed by the Management team
  • Clear plates, cutlery and glasses from the tables and return them to the dish area
  • Monitor food quality and presentation standards
  • Regularly monitors and achieves the O&B points of technical service and points of details
  • Adhere to all O&B health and safety standards
  • Additional duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the industry
  • Knowledge of service standards
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Smart Serve Certification a requirement
  • High attention to detail
  • Team Player
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
  • Available to work evenings, nights and weekends
  • Ability to commute to and from work at nights and on weekends.
  • Full time position
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
