Avidbots is a robotics startup that is working on the robotics technologies of tomorrow. We are currently developing the next generation of autonomous self-driving cleaning robots that will take over the cleaning industry, cleaning large commercial spaces such as colleges, universities, shopping malls and airports.

Avidbots is looking for a talented and passionate individual to join our growing QA organization. As part of the QA team you will be working in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for ensuring that all robots ship with the highest quality code that will work to our customer’s complete satisfaction. You will utilize your knowledge of software testing, whilst constantly ensuring that the software, electrical and mechanical systems are working harmoniously to do a great job at cleaning.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with different Software Development teams in an Agile environment.
  • Create and write test cases in the test management tool and/or automated test cases using Python.
  • Perform all aspects of test verification, including functional, system, exploratory, stress, performance and regression testing.
  • Work closely with the Software QA Manager and team members to ensure that software/system deliverables are achieved in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • B.S.c. or College diploma in computer engineering or equivalent experience
  • You have a strong work ethic and great attention to detail - you take pride in your work and in knowing products inside out.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Ubuntu/Linux.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability to learn fast – you are a self starter.
  • Excellent team player, strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A desire to break things. You enjoy coming up with new ways to test and stress software.
  • A part of you gets very happy every time you find a bug :)
  • Critical thinking from customer/end user’s perspective.
  • Familiarity with Python

Bonus

  • Knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System) and Gazebo simulation engine.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with JIRA, Git
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Jenkins
  • Experience writing automated tests
