What Does the Role Entail

As a Junior Product Owner, you will be an integral part of Fenergo’s SaaS product team. As part of the team, you will have a chance to influence the direction of the product front to back and grow with the product as we continue to build out our offerings. We are building the platform using the latest technologies and cloud-based architecture, utilizing the power of platform services. The team is transforming the way we design and build software so that value is delivered quickly to our users.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will get the chance to

  • Be part of a cross-functional team of product owners, engineers and designers to deliver your product on a global scale.
  • Be a subject matter expert for your product and subject domain, with an awareness of how your product impacts the broader business objectives.
  • Work on defining the roadmap, create benchmarks against client requirements and engaging in market analysis.
  • Develop features and user stories in the product backlog.
  • Be responsible for writing user stories, working the developers to form solutions and designs.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis, using this to inform decisions on a user story design level.
  • Input into the product vision and be a voice for this vision internally.
  • Understand the balance between achieving the desired business results and building a product that brings value to clients.
  • Understand customers and their pain points through qualitative user research methodologies such as in-depth interviews and prototype walkthroughs.
  • Work with a global client base, who are transforming every part of their digital customer journeys.
  • Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to revolutionize how we develop and deliver.

Requirements

  • Experience working in the financial services industry or on a SaaS Product as a product manager, management consultant, product owner or similar is ideal but not a must.
  • Excited about producing world-class software and determined to lead by example.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines in a high paced environment and in an agile fashion.
  • Understanding the value of design thinking methodologies and championing them would be ideal.
  • A customer-first mindset in everything you do.
  • Unafraid to make quick decisions.
  • Excited about imagining ways to solve business problems using technology.
  • Experience of working with tools to manage backlog work items and interact with product development teams towards a shared outcome would be ideal.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel domestically and internationally.
