Job Description

Media Planners at Mindshare are part psychologists, part scientists, part artists, part entrepreneurs, and part politicians. We strategize how brands should communicate with people across the myriad of media channels, and how to do that differently from every other brand. 

Responsibilities include:

· Prepare and present planning documents and POVs internally and to the client

· Help manage day to day and on-going projects

· Further develop your understanding of media planning concepts and process

· Research market trends in emerging media and content development

· Work with our partners to ensure that the idea is strategically relevant and commercially viable

· Work with various departments (e.g. Trading) to obtain buy in and appropriate resources to develop the proposed recommendation

· Participate in ideation sessions

· Develop industry experience and knowledge and actively attend all training and industry presentations

· Project manage – establish a work plan for each deliverable and direct and define for the team key task assignments and partner and client liaison

· Continue to develop presentation writing skills

· Ensure team communications are delivered in a timely manner to all participating members

· Develop poise and confidence to represent Mindshare Canada and handle client meetings

· Ongoing investigation of new media and technology

Qualifications

Desired Skills & Experience

· 1 year of agency experience - basic understanding of media planning across various channels including digital & social; IAT (inter-agency team) structure is a plus

· Creativity in making recommendations/problem solving

· Accurate and detail oriented

· Exhibit time management skills and the ability to multi task, manage concurrent projects and work successfully under pressure

· Ability to interact with all levels of staff and to supervise more junior members of the agency

· Strong quantitative and analytical skills

· Solid communication skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Media Tools knowledge is an asset

· Resourceful and self-motivated

· Curiosity and grit
