Overview:
Two Barrels is hiring a Junior Linux Systems Engineer. You will be a traditional company employee. This is a full time, Monday through Friday position that is required to work onsite (occasionally) in our office in downtown Spokane, Washington.
You will be part of a dynamic technical team responsible for designing, building, and delivering key technical solutions such as: servers, containers, storage, networking, voice, data centers, security solutions, and monitoring tools. Our job is to ensure that our customers have the best experience possible, utilizing the vast number of technical solutions that we provide. Our vision is to enhance the quality, resiliency and scalability of the technology services delivered to our clients and our customer service teams.
In this role, you will be mentored by senior staff to help develop and plan for the next generation of technology infrastructure solutions for the company. You will be responsible for general systems maintenance, troubleshoot routine automated maintenance and backup processes. You will diagnose and resolve internal system issues with end users. You will also be responsible for writing scripts, creating new IPA accounts, installing hardware and testing new systems.

$65,000 to $80,000/year DOE
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience
- A passion for Linux and Open Source projects
- 1-2 years of experience in Linux server design and administration
- 1-2 years of experience working as an engineer in developing and delivering infrastructure services
- An enthusiastic self-starter with a growth mindset and proven track record of execution and delivery
- Experience with at least one scripting language
- Experience troubleshooting basic software issues via command-line interface
- Experience documenting systems roll outs or updates
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sound understanding of networking concepts
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Experience with automation technologies
- Experience with monitoring solutions
- Experience with networking protocols and technologies
- Experience with AWS and their key services, i.e. , RDS, ECS, IAM, Cloudwatch
- Familiarity with DNS; register new domains, update records and operate a basic nameserver
