As a Junior Financial and Planning Analyst, you will be part of a dynamic team, supporting the Finance Manager in finance activities such as forecasting, budgeting, monthly closing and other initiatives/projects spanning ~240 company owned stores across 18 markets in Canada, ~3000 dealers and several national retailers.

You will work closely with the zone directors, regional sales managers, store group managers, real estate and product/marketing teams in a continual evolving environment. You will also directly contribute to The Pittsburgh Paints Company (PPC) success by maintaining a positive, collaborative and high performance team environment. You will report to the Finance Manager, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help with monthly closing process to ensure timely and accurate results.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly CA Trade Sales reporting and other monthly performance reports designated to Supply Chain, Technical Services and Selling Teams.
  • Participate actively in forecasting tasks and annual budgeting process.
  • Prepare request process including store lease renewals, new or relocated stores and other capital investments.
  • Prepare and coordinate all activities related to rebates and incentive programs for CA Stores and publicity coop incentive for CA Dealer.
  • Work with the Planning team in providing timely S&OP accounting forecast updates.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis including but not limited to commission targets or modeling, Authorized Agent profitability analysis.
  • Help develop, control and maintenance of new financial management reports, forms, worksheets and forecasts.
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional partners, including global business services, marketing, pricing, customer services, credit and supply chain.
  • Look for continuous focus on value through the development and improvement of business processes and provide support on strategic projects.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  • Encourage a strong internal control environment by supporting SOX engagement with auditors and providing accurate and timely information.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related with 1+ years experience.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or candidate for CPA preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel and demonstrated ability for learning new software applications
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to develop in-depth analysis
  • Strong Attention to detail and accuracy
