Job Description
Working with the Jr. Art Director, the Jr. Copywriter supports the creative team with the creation and execution of insightful campaigns for our clients. As a developing professional, he/she/they reviews and understands the creative strategy for each assignment and develops work that fulfills the strategy and goals within that document.
Reporting Relationships:
This role reports to the Executive Creative Director, with the senior leadership team advising on your different projects.
- Assists creative team by contributing to concepting and producing white papers, copy decks and presentation materials for internal and external presentations.
- Works with the Jr. Art Director on various campaign materials, understanding strategy and client goals, while adhering to brand guidelines.
- Generates copy that is grammatically correct and stylistically appropriate for a variety of media and targets.
- Learns and applies promotional tactics.
- Increases understanding and awareness of best practices, necessary technical knowledge and skill advances through attendance at trade and professional meetings and seminars, trade shows, perusal of the literature, and use of supplementary educational activities.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized program in copywriting (or related field), with a strong command of English.
- Approximately three to six months on the job experience necessary to gain understanding of internal standards, tools and effectively apply formal training to project management activities; completion of creative writing internship preferred.
- Technical: computer skills: proficient with Word and PowerPoint; competent knowledge of grammar and style, emerging proofing and self-editing capability; emerging grasp of marketing strategies and tactics; learning to write for a variety of media
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively exchange important information with internal and external clients, manage work flow within and across teams and recommend improvements to existing processes that impact client relations.
- Analytical skills necessary to evaluate schedules, budgets and client strategies against initial scope or work requested.
