About The Role
As a freelance writer for GOBankingRates:
- You’ll craft well-researched articles in a range of personal finance categories, including:

- Budgeting, saving, and shopping
- Retirement and Social Security
- Loans and banking
- Taxes and the intersection of politics and money
- Credit cards
- Freelance opportunities depend on our evolving content needs. Qualified applicants will be added to our roster and contacted when suitable projects become available. Response times may vary.
What We're Looking For
We’re seeking freelance writers who:
- Have deep expertise in one or more of our focus categories.
- Are skilled at producing engaging, optimized content that resonates with our audience.
- Can deliver polished, well-researched articles that align with GOBankingRates’ voice and standards.
How To Apply
To join our freelance pool:
- Submit a Writing Sample: Provide a published article or example highlighting your expertise in one of our categories. The writing sample should be something we could easily see appearing on GOBankingRates.
- OR
- Complete an Assessment: If you don’t have a relevant sample, we’ll provide a short assessment to evaluate your skills. Assessments are for evaluation purposes only and will not be used for publication.
