Purpose of the Role:

We have an exciting internship opportunity within our Technology team for a student enrolled in post-secondary studies specializing in Information Systems or Computer Science. This role is ideal for someone eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting while contributing to a dynamic, client-focused environment.

As an IT Operations Intern, you will support the development, refinement, and continuous improvement of existing AI agents. This role requires strong initiative, the ability to work independently, and comfort working in evolving technical environments where curiosity, problem-solving, and clear communication are key.

This will be a 3-month internship starting in June 2026. The location will be a hybrid of work from home and an in-office environment at our Vancouver/Toronto office.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop, refine, and improve existing AI agents by supporting updates that enhance reliability, accuracy, and end-user experience.
  • Assist with testing and quality checks for agent changes, documenting outcomes and escalating issues as required.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to capture feedback, understand user needs, and translate them into improvement opportunities.
  • Support documentation and knowledge resources (e.g., usage notes, change summaries, FAQs) to improve adoption and operational consistency.
  • Conduct research on agent-related topics (e.g., emerging practices, features, or tooling updates) and summarize findings into clear recommendations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited Canadian university/college in Information Systems/Computer Science.
  • Recent experience working with Copilot agents, Copilot Studio, and/or AI agents, including hands-on exposure building or enhancing agents.
  • Recent experience building agents (e.g., developing, configuring, or improving existing agent capabilities).
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • A self-starter with the ability to take initiative and think critically to seek out information and solutions independently.
  • Experience working independently, as well as in partnership with other team members.
  • Available full-time for the full summer term.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada for the full term
Compensation & Benefits Package:

Our internship position offers a competitive market salary of $26 per hour, along with additional benefits.

At Nicola Wealth, our people grow our business, delight our clients, and live our values every day. Our comprehensive compensation and benefits package reflects our appreciation for this commitment.
