The Role

BinSentry is growing by multiples every year and we need great talent to keep our people, systems, and workplace running as we scale. We're looking for an IT Manager who can own our internal IT and our physical facilities end-to-end: someone who can lead and develop a small team, but who is just as comfortable racking a switch, troubleshooting a laptop, or walking a contractor through the building. The IT team currently also manages small facilities requests like building desks, fixing broken doors, or working with the landlord. If you think you're ambitious enough, feel free to apply!

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations or systems administration
  • 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or supervising IT staff
  • Strong hands-on skills across identity and access management (SSO/MFA), endpoint management (MDM), and cloud productivity platforms such as Google Workspace
  • Solid networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi, firewalls, VLANs, VPN) in a multi-site or office + lab/production environment
  • Experience implementing and maintaining security controls (patching, backups, device encryption, access reviews) and supporting audits or customer security questionnaires
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and service agreements
  • Exposure to facilities or office operations: building access, maintenance, space planning, health and safety
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills; able to explain technical issues to non-technical people
  • Capable of guiding others through complex technical problems
  • Capable of using power tools such as drills and saws

What is an IT Manager expected to do?

Lead and do

  • Direct the day-to-day activities of the IT team by setting priorities, while personally handling escalations and hands-on work
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and support individual career development
  • Lead the interviewing and onboarding of new team members as the team grows

Run internal IT

  • Own identity, device, and application lifecycle: employee onboarding and offboarding, hardware provisioning, software licensing, and SaaS administration
  • Operate and improve the corporate network and infrastructure across the office, lab, and assembly areas
  • Maintain and enforce IT security controls; partner with Engineering and Security on policies, audits, and customer security questionnaires
  • Provide responsive end-user support and build self-serve documentation so the team can scale without the headcount
  • Manage the IT budget and procure the tools, equipment, and services the company needs

Run the facilities

  • Own the physical workplace: building access and physical security, maintenance, moving of equipment
  • Manage facilities vendors, contractors, and the landlord relationship; coordinate repairs and service calls
  • Plan and execute office changes: seating, expansions, moves, and build-outs for lab and assembly space
  • Maintain workplace health and safety basics and ensure facilities meet any compliance or insurance requirements

Tell me about BinSentry's Culture and benefits!

We are pleased to offer:

  • Full, company-paid group health and dental benefits plus your choice of an annual HSA or PSA
  • Competitive compensation and an equity package
  • Mentorship, guidance and a meaningful mission in which you are invited to participate
  • Brag-worthy swag
  • Awesome company events

This posting is for a new position.
