Summary

The Genesys Data & Analytics Team

The Data & Analytics team is a central team comprised of Data Engineering, Data Platform/Technologies, Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Product, and Data Governance practices.  This mighty team serves the enterprise that includes sales, finance, marketing, customer success, product and more.  The team serves as a core conduit and partner to operational systems that run the business including Salesforce, Workday and more. 

The Director of Data Management & Analytics is a key member of the Enterprise Data & Analytics organization that utilizes leadership to drive strategy, data community, analytics excellence, and data science delivery. This role has two primary responsibilities, drive team talent/culture and deliver enterprise data capabilities aligned to business strategy.

Staffing, enabling, and supporting product-oriented delivery teams is crucial to the success of the organization and has a direct impact on our ability to drive the business forward. These teams create data products and consumption capabilities that meet the needs of our enterprise, analyst communities, and downstream systems that utilize data to drive the business. This role is a thought leader in two or more data technology domains and will offer consultative services to business and IT teams on how to deliver capabilities using modern patterns, approaches, processes, and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Staff cross-functional and autonomous product-oriented delivery teams that build, maintain, and deliver data capabilities that support enterprise data needs

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through innovative thinking, mentoring, feedback, metrics, and transparency

  • Drive product management and engage with senior leaders, and other stakeholders to set the vision and articulate a detailed delivery roadmap for the team

  • Be an evangelist for the business value that IT delivers

  • Support the creation of thought leadership as expressed in white papers, conference publications, presentations, and related media

  • Provide thought leadership for data products, analytics, and science delivery

  • Drive a community engagement, influence, and alignment on priorities to support business strategy

  • Collaborate with cross-function teams to design interfaces that support data integration (ingress and egress) with internal and external platforms.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of enterprise data, science, and analytics experience

  • 3-5 years of leadership including managing teams with a global footprint

  • Strong business acumen, relationship building, and superlative communication skills

  • Inspiring leader with a driven, product mindset with results-focused attitude

  • Well versed in the big data Ecosystem (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks)

  • Proficiency in one or more analytics & visualization tools (e.g. Chartio, Looker, Tableau, QuickSight)

  • Data Governance leadership including compliance and data management policy.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, challenging environment where decisions you make will have a large impact

  • Strategic problem solver who simplifies problems to their core elements and finds creative solutions

  • Get-it-done mindset. You’re not afraid to take risks, you’re humble and scrappy!

  • Experience working within an agile scrum framework

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in computer science, data science

  • Creative, innovative and solution design thinking: You evaluate things holistically and think through the objectives, impacts, best practices, and what will be simple and scalable

  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Skilled at running cross-functional relationships and communicating with leadership across multiple organizations

  • Strong team player: ability to lead peers in accomplishment of common goals.
