As part of Network Infrastructure Strategic Sourcing, the IP Advanced Procurement Manager role supports the IP Hardware Engineering organization, focusing on  New Product Hardware releases through engagement across a broad range of sourcing processes, cross-functional teams, and systems.
 

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced procurement support to the Nokia IP Hardware Engineering organization throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships across key hardware commodities.
  • Act as the primary business interface between supply partners and IP Hardware Engineering teams.
  • Lead NPI component price negotiations and manage release milestones to meet engineering schedule and cost objectives.
  • Evaluate supplier capability, reliability, capacity, and cost competitiveness.
  • Demonstrate hands-on procurement experience across key hardware commodities, including:
    • ASICs, ICs, processors
    • PCBs, connectors, fans
    • Electro-mechanical components
  • Perform Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis, including:
    • Long lead-time risk and early purchase analysis
    • End-of-life (EOL) component reviews
    • Product Change Notifications (PCNs)
    • Dual sourcing strategies
    • Manufacturing cost assessments
  • Support IP Hardware Engineering with component-level and finished goods pricing for new product development.
  • Conduct business and financial reviews of potential new suppliers.
  • Lead procurement contract and NDA negotiations.
  • Provide procurement leadership for new product launches, from prototype through NPI.
  • Manage pricing updates and verification for Engineering and Product Line Management.
  • Participate in Product Line Manager readiness meetings, identifying project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for material shortages impacting NPI designs and product launches.
     
     
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of procurement experience in the Hi-Tech industry, including strategic sourcing and supplier management.
  • Hands-on experience with NPI processes and BOM analysis, including cost modeling and risk assessment.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, including supplier agreements and pricing.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office and sourcing/ERP systems (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Agile, SAP).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including financial reviews and supply risk mitigation.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
