The Opportunity

PICTON Investments is looking for a Quant Developer Intern to join our quantitative team for the winter co-op term. If you’re the kind of person who lights up at tough problems, enjoys building real technology that actually gets used, and wants to stretch your brain with work that matters—you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Do

• Build, enhance, and maintain internal applications using .NET (C#), WPF, WCF, and a SQL Server backend
• Design and deliver high-quality, robust solutions across the business, including front-office systems that simply can’t break
• Work with large volumes of financial data—clean it, transform it, and make it usable
• Perform ETL on external data feeds and pipelines
• Support business users with technical issues (the real-world kind you don’t see in textbooks)
• Create technical documentation that future you—and the team—will actually appreciate

What You Bring

• Currently pursuing an undergrad or grad degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Statistics, or a related technical field
• Sharp analytical instincts and the ability to troubleshoot methodically
• Hands-on coding experience with C#/.NET (whether from coursework, side projects, or both)
• Familiarity with databases and SQL
• Understanding of coding fundamentals and design patterns like MVVM
• Experience with version control (Git, SVN, etc.)
• Interest or foundational knowledge in financial products is a plus
• Comfortable taking ownership and working independently when needed
• Clear, straightforward communication—written and verbal
