DNV - Energy Systems is seeking an M&A Services Intern to join its M&A Services North America team. This team specializes in providing technical due diligence and analysis to support investments in energy generation infrastructure in the USA and Canada.   

This role is based at our DNV office in Toronto (ON) or Calgary (AB) presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend five (5) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. Further details regarding role-specific requirements will be shared during the interview process.

What You'll Do

  • Working in a diverse, multi-disciplinary, collaborative team spanning the US and Canada
  • Supporting infrastructure investors by reviewing their projects
  • Organizing customer provided data sets to support reporting and analysis
  • Reviewing confidential technical documents and contracts to extract meaningful insights for internal and external analysis and presentations
  • Reviewing financial models of energy and infrastructure projects 
  • Evaluating energy project performance data for alignment with contractual requirements and industry expectations
  • Supporting production work, including, but not limited to: report writing, customer data entry into CRM systems, data room management
  • Contributing to the development of tools and processes to continuously improve quality and value of delivery

    For British Columbia (Vancouver) and Ontario (Toronto): "DNV provides a reasonable compensation range for this role. The actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. For the cities of Vancouver and Toronto, the range of starting pay for this role is $25/hr - $35/hr.”

Qualifications

What is Required

  • Currently in a Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctoral degree program with an emphasis in a technical or business field such as engineering or commerce
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Familiarity with AI tools and prompting.
  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
  • We conduct pre-employment background screening

What is Preferred

  • Previous experience in an energy industry engineering role and/or infrastructure finance role
