Job Description

  • Reporting to the Senior Pavement Engineer, the Intermediate Pavement Engineer, will be responsible for supporting the overall success of MTO Projects in Canada.
  • Act in a supporting role on delivery of pavement engineering elements of transportation infrastructure projects for MTO.
  • Monitoring industry standards and developments, assessing client needs and making concrete decisions on proposed solutions. Monitoring project financial performance and invoicing clients promptly.
  • Develop and carry out site investigations for a variety of pavement design clients.
  • Participated in the preparation of Engineering Documents for a variety of geotechnical deliverables.
  • Preparing technical designs, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
  • Monitoring project schedule to ensure we deliver by agreed-upon due dates.
  • Advancing projects through the concept and detailed design phases, managing existing clients and developing new clients.
  • Liaising with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a University degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive related pavement design experience within a professional services environment. MTO experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clients and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Thorough knowledge in Municipal/Provincial Engineering including policies, regulations, guidelines and operational procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of large scale projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. French an asset. 
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
