Overview

The Buildings and Facilities group in Toronto provide mechanical and electrical design for all types of buildings in the commercial, institutional, industrial, and recreational sectors. Our clients and projects are varied and diverse.  The office is a high energy workspace where we work closely as a team to meet the requirements and deadlines of our clients.

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. This position is based in our North York, Ontario office.

Your role

  • Independent design of small and medium projects.
  • Prepare mechanical specifications.
  • Provide site take-offs.
  • Attend co-ordination meetings for projects.
  • Obtain information from equipment suppliers and incorporate in designs and specifications.
  • Co-ordinate with Utilities and Municipalities regarding incoming services.
  • Assist in drafting in AutoCAD on an as needed basis as well as Revit modelling.
  • Independent review of shop drawings.
  • Provide technical directions to junior designers and CAD operators.
  • Dealing with issues with Contractors during construction.

About you

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with PEO.
  • Minimum 7 years design experience in Mechanical design for buildings including commercial retail, offices, food stores and restaurants.
  • Track record of independent design of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage and Fire Protection for buildings.
  • Working knowledge of all applicable building codes and industry standards. Familiarity with design requirements.
  • Effective communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work on several projects at one time.
  • Extensive skills with AUTOCAD, Word, Acrobat & Excel (REVIT and other design tools an asset)

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $90,000 to $110, 000 annually (Only Applicable to Ontario). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
