Intermediate I&C Procurement Support Designer

Candu Energy is actively seeking qualified professionals to support engineering roles for nuclear projects in major areas, such as, new build including SMR in the province of Ontario, International new build, Refurbishment and Continuous Plant operation support modifications for nuclear generating Power Plants.
This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.
Your role within the team:
- Prepare equipment and components technical specifications.
- Prepare bills of materials and datasheets.
- Prepare procurement support documentation (Engineering Quotation Requests).
- Supporting the Procurement Engineering Manager with timely updates for procurement engineering progress and performance.
- Supporting the timely delivery of design and procurement packages, by meeting the requirements of applicable codes, standards, regulations, procedures, project quality plan and performance criteria.
- Provide technical support to engineering stakeholders to determine the cost, quality, and availability of components.
- Provide technical support to engineering stakeholders to analyze technical requirements, vendor provided information and documentation and to identify suitable suppliers.
- Assist in preparation of engineering deliverables for both nuclear and conventional systems in accordance with SNC-Lavalin Nuclear Inc. / Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements.
- Participate in company-wide initiatives aimed at overall continuous improvement.
- Attend site visits and technical meetings as required.

The ideal candidate:
- I&C or Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree from a university of recognized standing, plus a minimum of five years of practical experience in instrumentation and control system design or procurement.
- Registered, or eligible to register with Professional Engineers Ontario.
- Engineering experience in the nuclear industry is an asset.
- Field engineering and implementation experiences are assets.
- Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
- Sound knowledge of basic and fundamentals of Instrumentation, controls and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with applicable I&C design standards and codes.
- Good technical skills and problem-solving capabilities and be able to seek practical solutions to engineering problems.
- Good fluency and proficiency in communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office-related software applications, i.e. Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Adaptability to change and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Must be “Team” oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with other and promote a positive work environment.
- Travel to client job sites is required.
