Job Description- Lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for airport projects, including airfield lighting, control systems, and distribution systems.
- Manage electrical design for various infrastructure projects, including field electrical centers, parking garage systems, clean heat plants, and solar/PV systems.
- Oversee the design and implementation of EV charging infrastructure for new developments.
- Develop and maintain design documentation, specifications, and reports in accordance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into larger projects.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and design teams.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, local codes, and industry best practices.
- Participate in client and project meetings, providing valuable input and insights.
- Contribute to the growth of the Electrical department through the review and development of standards and templates.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is required in good standing with a Canadian engineering regulator.
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
- Strong understanding of applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including CEC and other local and international standards.
- Experience in AutoCAD, and other electrical design software is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and mentor teams.
Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred but not required):
- Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient design practices.
- Familiarity with airport security systems, control systems, and related technologies.
- Experience designing and managing one or more of the following systems would be an asset:
- Airfield Lighting Control and Management Systems (ALCMS)
- Airfield Lighting and Distribution Systems
- Field Electrical Centers and Buildings
- Parking Garage Electrical Systems
- Solar/PV Design and Implementation
- Clean Heat Plant Design
- Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure
