We are looking for a hands-on Intermediate Accountant to support full-cycle accounting, month-end close, AP/AR oversight, loan interest schedules, credit card tracking, and multi-currency transactions, investment-related accounting. This role is ideal for someone with 2-4+ years of progressive accounting experience who wants broader exposure and ownership of processes.
What You'll Do:
- Manage month-end close in QuickBooks (all journal entries, accruals, expenses, intercompany, foreign exchange adjustments).
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for group of companies.
- Process AP & AR: vendor invoices, payments, invoicing. Prepare weekly payment runs and maintain payment schedules.
- Track and reconcile credit card activity and ensure proper coding & receipts.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain treasury records.
- Assist with loan interest calculations and periodic billings.
- Record investment transactions (gains/losses, deposits, withdrawals).
- Support year-end tax and audit preparation, schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with established internal controls as well as participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to process improvements and workflow enhancements.
What You'll Bring to Maropost:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business.
- 2-4+ years of progressive accounting experience (AP/AR, reconciliations, month-end).
- Experience with QuickBooks Online. Multi-currency accounting is an asset.
- Advanced skill with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel. and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to meet month-end deadlines.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot independently in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy as well as have an analytical sense with large volumes of data.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, be flexible with competing demand have a willingness to learn new skills with a positive and proactive attitude.
- CPA or CPA-track is an asset (not required).
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and a proactive approach to leveraging innovative technologies to improve accounting processes and decision-making.
