Job Description
The Interface & Integration Coordinator supports the definition, documentation, tracking, and closure of multidisciplinary internal and external interfaces across civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and systemwide elements. This role ensures seamless coordination between design and inputs provided by third parties and the TRP design and construction teams, maintains interface registers, facilitates collaborative workshops, and supports integration activities required to achieve construction readiness, system installation, and Testing & Commissioning milestones. The position plays a critical role in keeping all technical disciplines aligned as the project progresses.
Maintain and update the project’s Interface Register during both design and construction phases, ensuring all interface points, owners, actions, and closure criteria are accurately tracked.
Coordinate multidisciplinary interface meetings, workshops, and technical discussions to address design and construction interface issues.
Support resolution of interface conflicts involving civil-civil and/or civil/systems.
Review design packages (IFC drawings, models, specifications) to identify interface gaps, clashes, or coordination requirements.
Ensure interface requirements are properly communicated to discipline leads, construction teams, and subcontractors.
Track and monitor interface actions, ensuring timely responses and closure to avoid impacts to downstream construction or system installation.
Support integration between civil/structural works and systemwide installations including conduits, cable pathways, equipment rooms, penetrations, grounding/bonding, and access requirements.
Assist in managing dependencies between design milestones, construction sequencing, and system integration readiness.
Coordinate with the Technical Team and the Designer to ensure interface constraints are incorporated into design revisions and IFC deliverables.
Identify and quantify risks related to interfaces, populating the risk register and providing justifications and support documents.
Support construction teams by resolving field-level interface issues, validating design intent, and escalating technical concerns where required.
Track and document interface risks, schedule impacts, and mitigation plans; support Project Controls in updating interface-related progress reporting.
Maintain detailed documentation including meeting minutes, action logs, technical clarifications, and updated interface records.
Contribute to the production of all the deliverables related to interfaces.
Required Skills and Competencies
Diploma or degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical field is preferred.
3–7+ years of experience supporting design or construction coordination on major infrastructure projects (rail/transit preferred).
Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering workflows and systemwide interface requirements.
Experience working with IFC drawings, 3D models, interface registers, and technical documentation.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to track and manage multiple interface points simultaneously.
Proficiency with coordination tools such as Bluebeam, Navisworks, BIM platforms, and MS Office.
Ability to work collaboratively with civil, MEP, systems, and construction teams in a progressive design-build environment.
Commitment to accuracy, integration quality, and proactive issue resolution.
